“The European Union and its Neighbourhoods. Network for the Strengthening of EU Engagement on the Eastern Borders” (2017-2021).
The project was funded by the European Union under the ERASMUS+ programme. The overall objective of the ENACTED project is to consolidate and promote excellence in research and teaching in European Studies, in particular on the topic of the role of the EU, by integrating network partners and enhancing their role in society. The project involved a partnership of universities and civil society organisations from Romania, Ukraine, Moldova, Poland, Belarus and Hungary. By involving wider target groups in the project, awareness of the EU’s neighbourhood instruments improved.

Short description, dissemination and impact | Preparation, edition and publication of the special issue of the only Ukrainian analytical English language journal on foreign policy – “Neighbourhood”. Articles are dedicated to the issues of the EU neighbourhood policy, Eastern Partnership, Association agreements. 9 articles, from which 2 are written by the ENACT partner universities authors – Loredana Simionov from Iasi University and Oksana Dobrzhanska from Chernivtsi National University. Dr Hanna Shelest was a chief editor of the issue. Printed version is sent to 100 best think tank, universities and MFA around the world. 400 copies presented at big foreign policy forums in Ukraine, Belgium and Turkey. Short description, dissemination and impact | Conducting the questionnaire-based survey for testing the efficiency of the neighbourhood instruments by looking, on the one hand, at the perceptions and feedback from the region vis-a-vis the ENP/EaP instruments and, on the other, at the ways CBC between EU and EaP countries could be improved. The focus is made on the case of Ukraine. |

Short description, dissemination and impact | The essay contest was jointly organized by NGO ‘Promotion of Intercultural Cooperation’ and Odessa National University. Students from Odessa universities participated in the contest. The essays were evaluated by the special commission that included ENACTED project members from Ukraine. The winner of Odessa round is MA student of the Faculty of International Relations, Political Sciences and Sociology at Odesa National University Iuliia Oproschenko.

Short description, dissemination and impact | On June 19, the NGO ‘Promotion of Intercultural Cooperation’ organized the ENACTED round-table discussion entitled ‘The Future of Europe – the European Union after the Elections and beyond’. The discussion was organized in Odesa, Ukraine, within the 2019 International Neighbourhood Symposium (INS) ‘Addressing the Challenges in Europe and its Neighbourhoods’. The Symposium aims to largely contribute to further cooperation and understanding of Europe and its Neighbourhoods by providing a forum for study and dialogue in a multicultural and interdisciplinary environment; this year the event has brought together speakers and participants from more than 15 countries. Speakers included, former MEP Hannes Swoboda and Director of the Black Sea Trust Alina Inayeh.
